The almosts

Here’s my fave ideas that I love for the smart use of data, sound insights, stellar use of social behavior — and because the people I built these with were true MVPs. These ideas all had traction by clients, but for one reason or another, you know how it goes, they never made it across the goal line. Most of these went up the ladder quickly, and at Google, that’s not nothing. #IYKYK

Search on. And on. And on.

From .Paak to Python. Discover more with the Google App.
(This is a really good rip video for a really good idea)

Concepted and executed in a day, we were tasked at showing Gen-Zers on iPhones how the Google App is the better search experience. The truth of the search rabbit hole is universal at this point, but this generation really takes it to the next level with lightning fast searches that lead them from one thing to the next.

Name a better assistant than Andy. Only the Google Assistant, powered by the family of Nest devices.

Using real film footage, we intercut how Google Nest could have helped Andy be an even better assistant if she had Google Assistant. So When Miranda barked, “Order me a steak”, Andy calmly says “Hey Google, order steak” to her Nest Hub. We have a rip and it’s wonderful. Email me if you want to see it. I’m still holding out hope it’ll get made if Google can find $20M in licensing fees.

Insomnia Twitter is a thing, did you know that?

For the launch of a new Nest device that has sleep sensing software, we proposed that the price fluctuate based on the volume of late night conversation on Twitter.

Utility bills be on the rise. And people take to social to complain. But the new Nest Thermostat is more efficient than ever, lowering energy costs.

To create hype around the next gen thermostat, we proposed turning your next utility bill into a lottery ticket to win a new Nest Thermostat. It’d go something like this: Announce the lottery on @MadeByGoogle Twitter > Ask people to tweet at us with the numbers of their most recent utility bill > If the numbers match a live drawing… WINNER WINNER YAY!

So a lot of tweets about thermostats are about about dads guarding them like insane people.

We were inches away from making an 8-bit style game where the whole premise was to get past your Thermostat Gatekeeper.
